There is a new buyers guide for 1st gen MINIs coming out soon.

I've pre-ordered a copy and will write a review once I get it.

Price dropped a few bucks too.

:cornut: Mr Nathan Sir. I realize that you don't have a crystal ball but as you are much more of a MINI informed person than I am, will we ever get a book on R56 and above MINIs? I realize that the repair manual on the R56 came out not too long ago but, a performance book/manual would be nice also. Any info including info from Rumor Control would be appreciated.

    Thanks Nathan,
    Jason

I have no idea but if the books on the 1st gen are any guide to go by it will be a few years before we see anything.

This book has been sitting on my desk for a while just staring at me to get on to writing the review.

    The short version.

It's a great guide when looking for a 1st Generation MINI to buy.

    The longer version.

There was a bit of excitement as there always is when a package arrives. Woo Hoo...a new book. Welp, that didn't last long. It's pretty a small book at only 64 pages. When you factor in the advertising for other books from the publisher now we are at 58 total pages. Physically, the book is small too at just over 5" x 7" in size. This does make it very convenient to slip in a pocket to use a guide when looking over a potential 1st Gen MINI for purchase.

Along those lines and really what this book looks to be designed to be this is a very good checklist of areas to look at when contemplating a 1st Gen MINI. Even the best among us could use the help of a checklist to make sure we don't miss something when inspecting a MINI. To that end this book is very helpful.

I'd recommend it to those looking to purchase a 1st Generation MINI or to those that just have to collect every MINI book on the market. If you already own a 1st Generation car then this book is not that useful to you.
