i do not have the renntech tune, but i have spoken to both their engineer and salesman

i am going to get their tune as soon as i get the rest of the necessary upgrades done (tyrolsport FMIC, milltek downpipe/cat, DOS intake, way exhaust manifold are the biggies ($$$))

the feature i like most is that their tune is tied to the sport button

so when visiting the dealer, sport button off = stealth mode

if you mean "apply via the OBD2 port", then no, it is not a flash tune

to my knowledge, no N18 is able to be "flash tuned" via the OBD2 port at this time

the ecu must be opened, a chip removed for the maps to be edited, then reinstalled in the ecu (say goodbye to warranty)

Almost sounds too good to be true. But I'm still pretty new to the world of Minis. Hell the guy at the Toy Barn, where I bought mine, said that they could do a tune that would give me about 30 more HP. Though I dunno about the $500 price tag.
