For the second time in 40k miles the exhaust on our JCW bit the dust. The original one was replaced at 18k. Now #3 was installed under warranty. Will wait till tomorrow to see what the failure was, but on the original it was the resonator.

Is it my bad luck, are JCW exhaust crap?

Wonder if it's the resonator again...curious to see the verdict. Did it sound the same when it went this time as it did the first time?

Non JCW but, my buddy's OEM 04 header let go.
The round thing just above the two header parts is the pre CAT element.

Something like that. At least according to the dealer I get a reset for 2 years and unlimited miles on all parts replaced by them, so hopefully it goes in the next 2 years.

I have a JCW resonator I'd let go of for a few $$$.

Did you remember to lube your muffler bearings at the regular service intervals?

I don't feel so bad, my justa's looked like this at 100k miles when I installed the Megan.

Notice the wire that held it on for a the month before I swapped it out. The hangers had rotted off.

The resonator seemed OK, but the muffler was pealing apart like an onion.

My '06 MCS with 86k wasn't bad at all. Plenty of life left, no rust on the cans. Sorry, no pics. It's in three pieces in the dumpster now.

I don't remember the mileage but my JCW exhaust broke at a weld. Dealer wouldn't weld it, nor would he let me get it fixed while I waited for them to get the parts. Pricey stuff, but not on my nickel...
