So I speced out and ordered an "S" with sport suspension and the JCW exterior package. My plans for the car are to replace the stock exhaust with the JCW exhaust and add a CAI for some noise. Then I started thinking about doing the JCW retrofit that included the exhaust, intake, and ECU tune in the future. Now I'm thinking I should just change my order to a JCW before its too late. My question is, would my "S" with a dealer installed JCW kit be the same as ordering a JCW right from the start? I know I won't have upgraded brakes with the dealer installed kit. Are the engine internals the same? Thanks!!

I didn't think that they were the same, but I couldn't find what differentiates them. Do you happen to know or could you point me in the right direction?

    GET THE JCW!!!!

The engine and suspension are different as well as the exhaust and the intake system.

    I wished I had one.

:cornut: Agree Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only reason that Margi is a MCS/JCW is that there were no factory JCW in 2007-8. Dealer JCW add on's were it. In that time period one would see people talking about their JCW x 1, x 2, x3 etc meaning dealer JCW engine upgrade, suspension, brakes, aero kit. Now of course all of that comes on a factory JCW. GET the FACTORY JCW or you'll always regret it.

Well, I submitted the specs to my MA. As long as its not too late to change my order, I'm going to pull the trigger and get the JCW. Thanks for your help!

    You won't regret it!

A friend of mine drove a 2007 MCS for several years and last year ago ordered a JCW. They love the difference and the folks that race MINI's say the motor differences alone make it worth it.

    Enjoy!

It's been less than a week since I ordered the car and I just found out that it's already in production. I'm getting a quote to have the JCW tuning kit (exhaust, intake, ECU tune) and a GP rear diffuser installed prior to me taking delivery. I'm a little bummed that it's now being built as a JCW, but I'm sure that I'll get over it as soon as I get in the car. :D
