Just picked up my like new 09' JCW with 25K. The car is stock except for the JCW strut bar the last owner or dealer installed. So my question is whats the best performance hp upgrade for the buck? I don't want to make the car any louder. I love the stock exhaust. I would love the leave it alone. and maybe remove any restrictive areas on it or the car. My goal is to get to 250 hp. With out braking the bank. I hope you can help. Thanks.

Easiest way to make it faster...
    Add lighter wheels...
Add camber plates up front and camber struts in the rear...
    Add non-run flat tires
    Add some good Swift springs....
Take a few Auto X classes....

Just made you and your MINI much faster and didn't even touch the engine....

    There.... Magic...:D

:cornut: Congratulations on your JCW MINI. There are plenty of us JCW types around. I would concentrate on just driving it for now to get to know her. These cars already drive way better than we can drive them. Also there's a discussion going on now(some one will cut in and tell you where it is in the forums) about how the N14 engine that you and I have takes minor power upgrades very well but this engine cannot survive major power upgrades like the cast iron Pentagon Tritec engines of the R53s. Welcome! We're glad that you're here.

Exactly. The n14 is not the tinker toy that the Tritec is. It comes from the factory way closer to maxed out. A whole lot can be done to make it a better driving car with suspension changes.
