With the ending of The Daily Toggle I'm back to doing these again. MINI Brand Sales For June, MINI USA reported 4,914 automobiles sold, a decrease of 20.4 percent from the 6,174 sold in the same month a year ago. Year-to-date, MINI USA reported a total of 25,144 automobiles sold, a decrease of 16.9 percent from 30,260 automobiles sold in the first half of 2015. MINI Pre-Owned Vehicles In June, MINI Certified Pre-Owned sold 1,003 vehicles, a decrease of 4.6 percent from June 2015. Total MINI Pre-Owned sold 2,284 vehicles in June 2016, a decrease of 5.7 percent from June 2015. Total MINI Pre-Owned sales year-to-date were 13,667, a 5.4 percent increase from the first half of 2015.
 Hummm I guess this gives new meaning to the "F" in F series. FFF :mad2:FFF :mad2:FFF :mad2:FFF :mad2:FFF :mad2:
YEP that new BIG car feeling along with the redesigned no imagination badging is working well for them. My customer base who have tried then bought low mileage used R53 and R56 models is growing-One woman hated her F56 so much she tried to get her R56 back, but it was resold so she traded-on a Dodge Charger! Told me if she was gonna have a big car she mays as well have a big car!
If you don't count the coupe, roadster, and paceman which are no longer produced, and figure the 2017 CM is going to be released soon the numbers don't look quite that bad. It's been three ****ing years. The crap on the 3rd Gen cars at any opportunity is getting old.
MINI needs to do sumtin fast... They aren't getting the job done... Maybe increase the offerings on the clothing side of the business... Have they tried a line of cologne yet? Maybe some socks...
The 3rd gen looks like a bastardized huge ugly fish. Sorry if the you get all butt hurt about it but it's the truth. I mean I guess Hellen Keller had someone that liked her too.:lol:
Well thanks dave. I've got a lot of respect for you too. I've said before that the reason I spend so much time on M/A is because I like most of the people and maybe I can contribute something occasionally. Have you noticed how scarce 3rd Gen owners are on M/A? There's a reason for that, but then again maybe that's how some of you like it. Keep up the good work Dave, and, oh yeah... MOTOR ON.
This is not a 3rd gen site. That boat sailed a long time ago. LXM is for the 3rd gen people so they can feel special. Oh and thank you for telling me to Motor On. That makes you number 59,391,981,457th person that have said that to me.
Hey, hopefully they tank and shut the doors. Just maybe then, and only then, my car will be worth something some day...
Interesting that the R60 cars on the dealer lots should be suffering due to impending release of the new CM, along with the fact that they're the only ones without the new "upscale" interior materials and design...yet these outdated leviathans actually out-sold every other model available. The dealers must be practically giving 'em away.
If these sales drops keep up, I might be able to replace my VW when the buyback happens with a MINI for a tiny bit of extra $$....but will be comparing it to a VW Jetta TDI, NOT A (IMO)REAL MINI.... Be better than nothing...yes I am watching....waiting....wondering...does MINI USA go the discount and rebate route?! Anybody curious how much $$$ on the hood of an "f" car makes it look better?! I'm thinking $3000 to get sales moving!! Then again ...they ARE selling, just not in the USA.....
I do like the fact that f series are true b series BMW motors. They also thought better than to place the turbos directly above the exhaust creating a little hell heat tunnel like the r56. Truly a design fault. I'll blame the French. A stock f series engine tuned can supposedly make similar power as a built n14/n18. They are ugly as sin tho. Man it looks like a dog. A bit "doggy", I must say.
Fact is, the F series isn't having the same sort of sustained sales that the previous gen had... once people get past the OMG its new they tend to go Meh... friend of mine was all about the new clubman...but as time went on he started to hate it and was glad he didn't buy one... I don't think MINI understood that brand loyalty only works if you throw the loyal ones a bone... there is nothing on the horizon that give those who love the brand hope they will reverse course... the superleggera will probably end up as a bloated 2 door vert like the current models and the new CM's dimensions are just ungodly... plus they are starting to show in their press releases that they are turning away from performance and that sort of by the seat of your pants fun and going for more "quiet" "refined" and "comfort"...basically means fat, soft and squishy it looks like MINI is going to take a bath on these F series and could actually force an early end to the much maligned F56...and hopefully an end to make ever damn model a 4 door
Really, The further and further the Cooper seems to get from the first gen the worse it looks. To me. Don't get me wrong, I love my R56, but I do wish the rear end wasn't so bulgy compared to the first gen. I do like the head and tail lights better on the R56. But Honestly, if they cleaned it up, got rid of the vacuum cleaner front end and tucked in all the bulges it'd be ok. And those headlights, They gots ta go. The seats in the F56 are fantastic though :beer
Yeah the new interiors make me jelly. My r56 interior sucks ass. Everything vibrates, creaks, and rattles. I also think it's pretty funny the OEM stereo is too wimpy to drown it out. I guess the mod fix for this would be a beef sub taking up the boot and constant drum and bass...
Blow I think... The GP2 blew the doors off the GP1 on the Nürburgring run... Yeah.... I'm sticking with blow....
