A few years ago wasn't MINI on a minimalist campaign, less is more and all that stuff. I think they should take that one step further by offering a true minimal MINI. You should be able to order a very basic MINI. Leave all the gizmos and gadgets off, no back seats, no Bluetooth, just truly a Justa MINI S. I want the driving experience only. The price has moved into the outer limits. I know MINI is not alone with prices, everything has gone up. But why not offer a stripped down version, street legal but just short of a track car. Nothing else, just a thought.
Agree. IMO the Rocketman seems to be the only concept that even comes close to a true Mini. Even though they are only 2 seaters I think the Superleggra comes in a close second. For a striped down "street/track racer" I would vote for the ACV 30.
Unfortunately all the electronics is a profit maker for car companies. $1500 for a nav? Get a TomTom for $100 and it's better. The perception built by marketing guys is cars with less electronics is less of a car. So they add more and more. When a lot of us were growing up we souped up cars, made them faster, made them handle better. Now it's all about the ICE. $500 Corolla with a $500 wing and $2000 ICE.
This is what I have been wanting since 2007. A no frills MINI would have, no heated seats, Sunroof, rear wiper, No Nav or Bluetooth, Cruse control or electronic nanny's "Hill assist". You would only get a Radio, Heat, 6 speed, and the only option is add A/C or Automatic. * Power Windows and Locks included and a oil dip stick included. JUST A BASIC mini MINI S so you could just :mtrn:
Just put me in the driver's seat and watch me get myself lost...pretty cheap In Car Entertainment right there...
This concept would be perfect for you Stef, because i do know from personal experience you are a FANTASTIC driver, and this concept will be a lot of fun for you.
