Luxury car maker BMW's China Automotive Trading will recall Mini Cooper models due to faulty seats, China's consumer quality supervisor said Saturday.

The recall will involve 100 vehicles sold on the Chinese mainland and produced between August and September 2014, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in a statement.

Due to faulty welding, the front seats may not be locked in place firmly, posing safety dangers, said the statement.

The recall will start on November 28 and the company said it will repair the parts free.
