As requested by the incomparable Dave.0 I present A Good Old "What Wipers, Fuel, oil, Air Filter or Tires do You Use" Thread You're Welcome Dave
1. PIAA silicone blades 2. Top tier 93 octane. (Shell or Sunoco ONLY) 3. Amsoil 4. K&N dry filter in DDM intake. 5. Dunlop Star Spec ZII (Spring Summer) Winter = garage & crappy Michelin Pilot A/S
1.Wipers: Charmin 2 ply 2. Fuel:3floyd's Zombie Dust 3. Oil:Canola (I used to use extra Virgin, but I'm opposed to virginity in general) 4. Air Filter It's very hard to come up with something irreverent for this so I won't bother 5. Wheels:round ones
1.Wipers: Whatever's on sale at AutoZone 2. Fuel: Unleaded I think 3. Oil: It needs oil? Isn't that "lifetime"? 4. Air Filter: What's an air filter? 5. Tires: Whatever's on sale at Just Tires
1. OEM until I stop getting my free refills 2. Top tier 93 octane. (Shell or Sunoco ONLY) 3. Mobil 1 4. aFe Dry Filter 5. Neova AD08R for the summer... and I'll be selling the winter tires this fall.
Wipers - microfiber towels... wait, wiping what? Fuel - shell93 Oil - Mobil 1 & Motul Filter - meh Tires - winter = General Altimax Arctics; summer = S04 pole positions
R53 1. No Wipers Needed. We do not get rain. 2. Chevron or 76 Premium 3. Castrol 5-40 Synthetic 4. K&N 5. Michelin Pilot Super Sport MkII 1. Rubber 2. VP 100 3. Redline 50w 4. K&N 5. Yokohama A008
Reluctant to quibble with the oracle, but I am not aware that Sunoco uses the Top Tier additive, which I, too, think is mandatory to being a Mini enthusiast.
Finally, a thread that will cause exodus from the sawing site.....More info on Countryman wipers please.
For my 2003 R50: 1. PIAA Super Silicone 18 left, 18 curved right, new blades after every 3 or 4 refills. 2. 0% EtOH 91 octane, I think from Amerigreen (only 2 stations in our county that have Ethanol free fuel). When that's not convenient, I use 93 octane Shell V-Power or Exxon/Mobil 93 or Sunoco 93 in that order of preference. 3. Mobil 1 Euro 0W40. 4. K&N drop in oil filter - Alternate with a foam/oil one while cleaning and drying the K&N. 5. 205/50/16 Continental ExtremeContact DW early spring to late fall (NLA in that size). 185/65/15 Michelin X-ice Xi3 end of fall to beginning of spring.
And since folks are taking this semi-seriously, I'll provide semi-serious responses: 1.Wipers: Currently PIAA Super Silicone. Sometimes Bosch Icons and other things. 2. Fuel: Mostly Shell 93. Occasionally other stuff. 160k miles on my engine, occasional doses of non-top-tier doesn't seem to have hurt anything. 3. Oil: Currently Mobil 1 High Mileage. Early on, Castrol European. 4. Air Filter: Amsoil Nanofilter (JCW flapless airbox) 5. Tires: Currently Dunlop ZII Star Specs, 225/45R16
1. To be decided... 2. Still testing different brands (3 tanks each) to find what works best. 3. Mobil 1, 0/40 at the next change...and thereafter. 4. DDM CAI 5. Continental DSW I have an R52 S with insanely low miles. (6,100 actual) It is like breaking in a new car. So much fun it should be illegal, immoral, or fattening....
Not that it matters, Bosch Icon. (Presently) Any premium gas (91 octane or better) Presently Loves has been the fuel of choice. Royal Purple 5-30 K&N. (JCW air box with the flap removed) Hankook V2
1. Whatever is on sale bc I don't really drive in rain and I have never been impressed by wipers. 2. 93 usually whatever is around. Shell/BP/speedway. 3. Amsoil 4. Amsoil JCW intake flap removed. 5. Michelin Pilot Super Sport I'd like to add another category!!! Coolant? Or wiper fluid? 6. Don't really care. Probably Prestone bc its fricken coolant and who cares. 7. I think Rain X
1. OEM 2. Shell or Sunoco 93 3. Whatever Anson puts in there. I think they are using Motol 4. Craven Speed CAI. Big ole Foam thing (red) 5. I forget it's been so long since i've seen my car. 6. Whatever Anson puts in there. 7. Wiper Fluid....hmm, one needs those washer jets in the hood for that, right.
I take Friskie to a guy with greasy fingernails who tells me what to do so I do it. Kinda like being married....successfully.
