We at MINI John Cooper Works Racing Team now have a really cool transporter for carrying around our MINIs and all of our race track stuff. Actually, it’s the same transporter that we had before, but it has been freshly ‘wrapped’ with a new design.

To celebrate our new look, we are offering all MINI or Mini drivers an opportunity to win a prize. No, the prize won’t be a new MINI JCW, but it will be a new MINI JCW Team T-shirt.

Our truck driver, ‘Foggy’, puts in over 20,000 miles a year safely getting our MINIs to race tracks across the country and back to our shop. Some say ‘Foggy’ is the most important driver on our team, and they may be right. After all, how foolish would the rest of us look showing up at a race track and not having any cars or tools if ‘Foggy' doesn’t get there on time?

Here’s how the contest goes. We know that all MINI or Mini owners love to drive, so when you’re out and about, keep an eye peeled (keep only one eye peeled—please keep the other on the road) for our transporter. When you spot it, flash your lights and/or toot your horn, and wave to thank ‘Foggy’ for keeping the MINIs rolling.

Then send us a Tweet to @lapmotorsports and let us know the approximate spotting location. Please use the hash mark #MINIJCWTeam in the message. PLEASE, don’t try and Tweet while driving—if you’re alone, wait until you can safely pull off the roadway before Tweeting. If you can also send a photo, that would be cool.

Senders of the first five Tweets we receive will receive a shirt. Someone from MINI JCW Team will contact you for your mailing particulars.

The next race will be on Sept. 18 at Circuit of the Americas near Austin, Texas. We will post here when ‘Foggy’ will leave our shops near Indianapolis, Indiana heading for COTA and when he will leave the race track to head home to Indianapolis. We will also give you the general route that ‘Foggy” will take. A photo of the transporter is below—you can’t miss it.

You have two chances per race to spot ‘Foggy’ and the transporter. Good luck!

Post any questions here and we will check back regularly to answer them.

    Transporter Schedule for COTA

OK transporter fans, here's 'Foggys' travel schedule for the race at COTA. The transporter will leave our shops near Indianapolis IN sometime on Monday 9/14 heading for COTA.

The Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race will take place on Friday, 9/18 between 1:40 pm and 4:10 pm (all times ET). The transporter will be packed up after the race and Foggy will leave COTA sometime in the evening of 9/18 to head back to Indianapolis.

We don't know the exact route, but if you live or will be traveling in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas or Texas during the above time periods, keep your eye peeled.

Post any questions here and we will check back regularly to give you an answer.

    Thanks

Will it count if we live and work in Austin and wait for it to arrive at the track during our lunch hour lol?

    Spot the MINI JCW Transporter

Sure - as long as you spot it before it gets into the race track.

    Philadelphia Detour

Zillion, even without a GPS, I know that Philadelphia is not between Indianapolis and Austin. But, for a few cheesesteaks and soft pretzels, ... :drool

When it takes that little jog to the east to pass by Philadelphia, route it by VIR. Wouldn't be too much out of the way. :D
