Is there a way to tell if the ECU was flashed?

As the title says. Is there a way? I'm just curious since I was looking a wot box and contacted them for the wiring diagram. They obliged but warned me it would go into limp mode for misfiring. But I also remember that a coil pack went and misfired the whole day in cylinder 2 and never went into limp mode. I have a 2009 Mini Cooper JCW
