It is finally time for me to sell my 2006 Mini Cooper S JCW GP #1405 for $12,500. It is a one owner car and I am the original owner. After 14 years of R53 ownership (2003 R53 and 2006 GP) it is time to move on to a different car. I wish I could keep the GP but it would have to stay outside, which I just cannot stand doing to the GP, so to a new home it must go. My GP is in excellent condition, no dings, dents, or scratches; just a few minor rock chips on the front. No wheel rash. Engine is clean with no leaks. Interior is in great shape, very clean with no stains. Driver seat has slight wear on side bolster. The car has never been in an accident. The car has always been garaged so the paint and various GP emblems are in excellent condition. When at dealership a few months ago, the service reps said the car looked great. The car has its share of miles (103,000) but the clutch/flywheel and front lower control arm bushings only have 57,000 miles on them (replaced under good will warranty). The car has been Auto-Xed about 10 times but no track days. Normal Mini wear-out items or common problem items have been replaced. All original manuals, receipts, and detailed vehicle history are available. Many Mini Cooper enthusiasts consider the 2006 GP the best Mini ever made due to its unique character and performance. Car & Driver rated the GP as one of the top five best handling cars in 2006. As you probably know there were only 2000 Supercharged GPs built for the world, with only 415 sent to the USA. The GP included all the JCW parts (engine, brakes, and suspension) plus a few unique GP items such as larger intercooler, specific GP tuned ECU, GP unique 18†wheels, GP Aero package with full undertray panels and carbon fiber rear wing, rear window, thunder blue paint, no rear seat, rear interior panels, rear bar, and rear aluminum trailing arms. The great capabilities of this GP have been enhanced with a few upgrades. The original parts are boxed and available to the buyer. I sure would love to own your GP Mike. The wife would have my A$$ for sure if I did that though... Though I'm very tempted, knowing what a great car you've got and how well kept it's always been. I'm headed out of the Country on Thursday for a month and will give you a call when I get back.
I'm pretty satisfied with the choice I made for my MINI replacement. Someone will get a real nice car if they pop on Mike's ride!
Not yet. I need to get use to it's stock capabilities. I will eventually mod but probably not for a year or so but I have already been looking at parts.
What a coincidence.... My R53 went Salt Lake City too! Congratulations Mike and hope the new owner will enjoy it as much as you do...
I almost got a GTS over the new MINI. My wife wasn't too keen on the payment & maintenance costs though. I flogged a 2015 GTS on a couple Vegas area tracks. I was very impressed. It had great manners cruising around the paddock and was smooth and unflappable on the track. Good purchase.
