From about 12.30 PM Eastern till around 5.00 PM Motoring Alliance came under an alleged attack. I'm not going into the details of how the site was allegedly attacked or what was done to allegedly mitigate the alleged attack. I trust y'all understand why I'm not divulging this alleged info. Anyway, I guess I annoyed someone. Who, I have no idea. Why, I have no idea either. I would hope they would be man enough to discuss their issue with me instead of allegedly attacking the site. Either that or someone out there just thought it would fun to kick the MINI site for a while today. We'll probably never know which. Just wanted to share with ya'll why there was so much trouble accessing the site for a bit today. Thanks for your support of Motoring Alliance
I think it was an attempt by Lifan to bring down the site in an attempt to element competition for it's soon to be launched Lifan 320 based website Motoring Allegiance...just saying!
Was it directed at your hosting provided? There was a DOS event earlier this year targeting certain hosting companies. No need to answer here, just something else to consider.
Sorry but anyone that knows me knows I don't care about much. I have good job & healthcare and do not need the govt. help.
Probably didn't have anything to do with the site directly. There have been a number of attacks on sites that place well in search engines or have a lot of traffic. Sometimes it's just wanting to cause havoc others it to try and get control. We've had at least 7 sites hit this year. It was always to plant malware into the site for visitors to get stuck with.
Do you know the reason MC2 changed its name? Barry would not pay for spell check and could not spell MINI COOPER 2 correctly without help.
It was NAM. The forums there were full of "Show me your grill badge", "$69 Dollar Unichip ROCKS!!!!", and, most recently, "What is the best brand of Walnuts for my valves," so they tried to steal some threads over here in attempt to overcome the stagnation, simple as that. Like the metaphor, "It ain't a party until something breaks," "It ain't a website until someone tries to hack it."
