Saw this over on NAM. It appears that moderators are either leaving or relaxing their tight grip. they aren't even blocking references to MA.
I think all the MODS quit.... or they finely realized many folks are on both.. and a bit of cross-pollination might keep them going a few more years.... either way...think the spiral is tightening on NAM...heck, it seems like 2 vendors are responsible for 50% of posts....
Hope NAM dies a painful death... But if I was on there right now, this could be the free for all I've always wanted.
In another thread NAM members bring up the M/A sites bashing of second and third generation owners and nothing there for a Countryman owner. They also mention M/A as being a dead site because of low postings.
I spent quite a bit of time on nam when I first got my Mini. Got tired of the bickering and BS and went looking for something else. That's how I happened on MA. Only time I go to that site now is to check the classifieds. I've bought a lot of parts there with no problems and have sold quite a few there also.
A week ago I bitched in the NAM Site Feedback Forum about the disappearance of event RSVP links in the calendar capability. Silence. I subsequently reported my own post, hoping to get some attention. Silence. Maybe they have all gone home...
NAM...the only "car" site where I have seen a 'moderator' lodge a complaint against a 'vendor'...publically. And to add insult to injury, after the grievance was resolved...the thread was left open. Bad juju... I really wish I knew how to post a link and not screw something up...
Had to laugh at that... Figured if a person us so blind to not open their eyes...why bother saying the truth... Seems they both don't like dave-o.... They remember him by name!!
Well... Ethics are a touchy subject... The mod posted as a member then used the power of a member...they did not use any "moderator powers", so how could they misuse " mod powers"? I know that particular mod is not liked here, but it was textbook ethical behavior. He did not ask to be treated different, nor did he misuse or USE any power as a mod... While it was not IMO the way to proceed, individuals have options...he choose the option he wanted. I think the mods level of frustrion with IB/NAM showed in his post, and I believe it was his last post on NAM...think he is gone...
Is Drew gone too? I checked that thread out of sheer boredom, and everyone is going on and on about a "rudderless ship".
Think he is fed-up... When the "guards" give up keeping the "prisoners" in check...the end is near... Let's face it...IB has let the site languish...the gen3 sections are a joke, the marketplave is still not updated, and the forums quality posts are dropping to near zero... If IB does not care, why should the mods.... And in a roundabout way, I discover MA due to the mod in question....he is a good guy, just (due to his back ground) took the mod job a bit to seriously IMO from a "law and order" standpoint...
Thanks, I appreciate the offer, but I will be at the National Muzzle Loaders rifle shoot in Friendship, In. I will take a raincheck though---GLADLY.
