Normally, I think MINI has done a great job with their commercials, but the ones for the Countryman are starting to go a bit down hill. Attacking snowmen and now cramming it in the boot. I know they are going for a target audience, but who that audience is scares me a little. :frown2:

I never had a problem with the snowman one. Not saying it was the best commercial, but I've heard some people really get bent out of shape on that one. This one, well, I wish they'd gone the BFgoodrich route. Like I said on MF, I like their driving = fun commercials more than their contrived fun commercials.

Volkswagen's Imperial March for the Passat was voted consumers' favorite advertisement during Super Bowl XLV according to ADBOWL® (Winners » ADBOWL® 2011), the original advertising ranking website and iPhone App developed by McKee Wallwork Cleveland.

As of 12 am EST*, ADBOWL® voters rated these top five ads:

    Volkswagen -- The Imperial March
    Bridgestone -- Carma
    Doritos -- House Sitting
    NFL -- Sitcoms
    Volkswagen -- Black Beetle

That Black Betty commercial is great... Had that song stuck in replay mode all night...

Cram it in the Boot was funny! Very British. You won't forget it anytime soon.

My only issues were that some of the commercials were very adult in nature and they were played right next to commercials aimed at kids... They need to chill that kind of crap out a bit.

The House commercial was pretty funny, too, tho. "Do you want my Churro?" :D

Surprised at the tone of the ad to be honest. But I guess to make an impression vs Bud Light and Doritos and etc they had to "go blue".

Mini has always gone for the naughty bits . Who remembers the threesome in the parking lot or the " size "contest ? Very well produced and funny as hell but adult in nature to be sure .

There was also the Clubman commercial where the cops come up to the car and ask for the owner. They are pointed to the back where he is with a few women. That one also drips of sexual innuendo.

This latest commercial was not out of the MINI realm when it comes to advertising.

That MINI Super Bowl ad was bad.

    I hope it's not a trend.

Automotive News rated all the ad's with a Hit or Miss .

For the MINI ad they gave it a Hit and said the following.

Almost to a tee the VW Force ad was the hands down winner as best ad by a car maker.

It was typically British and typically cheeky, which is what MINI has been about for years... Not sure why all the negativity. I laughed.

VW's was better, but I have definitely seen worse, the GoDaddy ads for example. THOSE are some really dumb ads.

MINIs other ads, when sexual in nature, at least imply the MINI is going to somehow enhance one's sexual life.

This ad just implies that if you buy a MINI, you're gonna take it up the...
