Fun & Games Two weird fish

    I caught these two fish in Padre Island. I have no idea what they are called. The first is really ugly. The second one is kind of neat looking.

    Cool, no idea either. Not that I can id any fish.

    One looks to be a stone fish or some sort, thats the one with really big mouth.

    I'd be real careful with that one, quite possibly the spines are poisonous.

    The other with the spot at the front of the dorsal fin is a blenny, not sure of the species, it's not in any of my marine fish books.

    I hope for the fish's sake you catch & release. Or better yet fry em up & let them learn about the food chain. :wink:

    I see you found the first to be a toad fish < I agree
    The second ? not much meat on either one.

    So you won't need to add anything to the pan you will frying them in their own oil.
