So, a few years ago I helped a friend import a rare Aston Martin from Europe to the California through Texas to save the buyer a ton in taxes.

That car is up for sale now, and I am helping him (hopefully) broker a deal. BTW, if you want it, the asking price is $1.5 million.

What I did not know until today, is that only two of this particular car were made, and I have photographed both of them, and driven the one for sale.

That didn't sink in until my friend said, "Only two of these were ever made, and you have touched both of them."

It made me think of the cars I have photographed, and driven, that only a handful of people alive today have even seen.

I'd love to make more money, but I can't knock the fringe benefits of my job as a car photographer.

Bertone did a nice job of designing a body that honors the Aston Martin heritage.

The blue on is the one for sale. We know the whole history on it, and the restoration is 100-percent correct. The red one was probably not that exact color, but the records are apparently sketchy. I shot that one for a magazine article. I took that car-to-car shot from the trunk of a Jaguar XJ8L I had as a press car. A videographer was next to me in the trunk. It was pretty cozy... and it was cold that day.

However, one of the owners of the magazine has a prime steakhouse near where the car was, and he hooked us up with some very fine food after the shoot. I had the 16oz bone in ribeye.

    Here is the video...

I'm in the video, briefly, if you watch carefully.
