The Ferrari 599XX is the first ever production-derived sports car to break the 7-minute barrier on the classic 20.832 km Nordschleife circuit, lapping in 6 min 58.16 sec. Watch and be amazed.

I don't understand how the 599XX can call itself "production-derived" when the 599 GTO is the road-going version of the 599XX. And how many of these 599XX are actually driven on the road? Seems like Ferrari is stretching too much on this one.

None of them, they're not street legal. And the tires they used to set the record weren't either...

A fantastic car, but not a street legal one. Kinda like calling the 962 Porsche street car derived.......:D

But I do love watching cars on the 'ring!

Yeah, the trick is to keep adding qualifications until you're the fastest.

I own the fastest '09 MINI Cooper in Oxygen Blue owned by someone that goes by Blainestang on Motoring Alliance!

Wow, that 599xx has the same color alcantera steering wheel as my headliner. Must be the 599xx is "production - derived" after my MINI. Who would've known?:arf:

I want the CF wheel donut. That should really keep the brake dust off my rims.

But I wouldn't want to drive around with large WHEEL DONUT lettering printed on it.

I read an article on the 599xx and the aerodynamic design of the car is insane. Where the tail lights are supposed to be are the exhausts for two fans that pulse out air from under the car.

That was an excellent E-ticket ride. If he had a HANs device to keep his head from rocking, it would have be down a few more seconds.

Production derived, yes I can see it. :arf:

What about this "road legal" car?:

The Ferrari 599XX has posted a startling sub-seven minute time around the 12.8-mile Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit.

Ferrari claims that it is 'the first ever production-derived sports car to break the 7-minute barrier on the classic 20.832 km Nordschleife circuit.'

Its 6:58.16 lap is actually the third fastest recorded time for a production car, although the 599XX is not road legal. The top spot is taken by the Radical SR8LM, and below that the Radical SR8 - which is a road legal car, amazingly.
