Well... Yes, but high power car's aren't meant to turn :cornut: I mean they can try, but good luck! Every time I think of going back to muscle I remind myself of my 80' Z28 with a stroked 350 (383) 4:11's, posi and a 4 speed. Insanely fun car in a drag race, insanely scary car if you were in a corner and even thought about touching that gas pedal. I won a disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle ticket with that car :beer

They'll be able to do **** no human driven machine could ever do, and us meatsacks are heavy! Weight reduction bro.
All that aside though, I really like the idea of an autonomous car. I love to drive don't get me wrong, I wouldn't invest almost 1000 dollars (if not more) every year for a few days at the dragon if I didn't love it. That being said, I also like the idea of heading out for a night on the town and having several drinks and getting into my car and saying, "take me home". I think another plus- In my mind, almost half if not more of the drivers currently with valid driving permits, don't deserve to be on the road. I'm in ATL, it's a s**t show out here. If they were in self driving cars the accident's would be reduced immensely if not all together.

The problem with autonomous cars is that they will follow the speed limit exactly. When I go on the freeway, everybody is going 5 to 10 miles/hour over the speed limit and things go really smoothly. When autonomous cars start being on the road in any numbers, they will clog up the roads by following speed limits and make things difficult for those of us who like to drive.

They won't be clogged because you remove the human element and the cars will communicate with each other, you may go the speed limit but with the cars driving themselves you won't hit traffic because you won't have *******es cutting people off or forgetting which exit they need to take till the last second. Also I think the speed limits will evolve with the cars/technology, Surely they'll input some variables that allow a car to go XX above the posted limit. The only danger on the roads will really be "those of us who like to drive" still. In the future I can see it being like, ok you've got this many traffic violations, driving privilege revoked, here's your state provided transportation. Take that 95 year old DneprDave, but at least you'll get to bingo on time :)

I do not want to give up my freedom. The next step will be you must have the car drive itself of "safety" reasons. No thank you

I'm just amazed on how technology has made all these different rides so quick and yet street capable.

As much as I love the sound of a Ferrari 458 Italia at high RPMs, I'd rather be in the silent car that beats the Ferrari 458 Italia.

I have always been a fan of the sleeper car.

I'd rather be in the loud car that you can fill up with gas and keep driving until you get tired of it rather than the fast silent one sitting in someones carport charging the batteries.

I love me a long country drive, too, and I'm not a big drag racing fan, but the Demon was the start of this thread. That's a muscle car. Muscle cars are famous for drag racing. Electric motors are a perfect match for drag racing.

You are definitely not going to like this video. Sorry.

That's an impressive car all right. But, out of curiosity, what's up with the rolling start?

I bet when the first motor carriages started to roll out the older generation liked the sound of horses trotting.
