Anyone have any experience or insights to the tire pressures the F1 teams run? I have noticed for quite some time that there seems to be a lot of tire deformation on the loaded tire. It is really evident on the loaded front tire as it goes around a corner. There were some great shots of the Ferrari's in today's race that showed how low the pressure seemed to be as they went around the first corner.
According to this article from 2009 they use around 16PSI. http://www.auto123.com/en/racing-news/other/f1-technical-the-evolution-of-formula-1-tires?artid=108911 That jives with other things I saw that say 1.1 bar.
I wouldn't think there would be lot of difference between their "cold" and their running temps since they pre-heat the tires.
