Meet Olivia (means Elf Army!). We call her Olive for short! She is a 2004 Mini Cooper S R53,we imported her from Italy. She is going to be a street legal go-kart! Olive will be daily driveable, functional and reliable. Oh did I mention she will be mental fast!

    The Plan:

We are going to make her into a 1.8L stroker engine with a C38 Rotrex supercharger!

Here she is in stock form!

Because, Why not! Adds to the flavor of the whole build!Even though it gets old being asked "have you ever seen the Italian Job?"...

It looks to be a US model--must be a military car. Is the dash in MPH or KPH?

Because, what is different with the Italian model vs the na model?

There has to be something to make it worthwhile.

I imported a Pajero from Japan. It was a 2.5 turbo diesel.
Something that could not be had, here.

From what he has told me, there are only some slight differences from the US cars... Dont know for sure, I didnt dig into it much the one time I have seen his car. ;)

Certainly a military car. Very subtle differences I've found. The antenna, tail lights, medical pack, tool kit. Owners manual and med pack in Italian... Still finding odd things as I rip into the car! Still having issues getting the Mini warranty converted to USA Mini jurisdiction unfortunately!

    Whats the antenna look like?

And does the radio pick up regular stations? I know cars imported from Japan the tuner will only land on even numbers instead of our odd freq numbers, so the radio wont work.

I am not sure, I have never used the radio! As for the antenna its a shark fin as opposed to the whip!

I am going to hook my autologic up to it and do some programing. Wonder what other surprises are lurking!

You may find the onboard espresso maker option. I think it pre wired like out CD changer option. If you find it you can order the espresso machine from MINI for 10 times it real value and control it from your radio if you know Italian. -ciao

I will have to park the car on the street corner selling myself...err I mean espressos just to pay for it all!

I still haven't figured out the matrix of button combinations to make all the fancy drinks. I think its seek one time, volume down twice, mute three times followed by play once for an upside down caramel macchiato...:cornut:

Just change it up a bit, you'll be ok. No one likes a grimy, bearded man wearing a halter top, red high heels, a mini skirt and fishnet stockings. It's ok to go shopping at Walmart in that sort of apparel but it just doesn't work on the street corner. My .02....
