Anybody hardwire a radar detector in their Roadster yet? Need suggestions on how to do so.

    Thanks

Yes. I have a valentine 1. Mounted unit with suction cups (for now) and ran wire down along windshield on passenger side just by pulling back the plastic enough to shove wire in. Then under the rubber of inside door to fuse box. I then ran wire to remote (behind NJ inspection sticker on driver side) along bottom of windshield tucked into defroster vents. The ground was the only hard part. I searched on forums and ended up using a bolt from the glove box. After 2 months it's been working just fine. The only bad part now is whenever I park, I have to put the top up and lock it. I wish there was a stealth way to mount it so no one could see it. From inside it is hard to see since it is just above the mirror.

Thanks. Did you use an add-a-fuse? If so to which fuse?

Just an FYI for anyone doing this make sure to remove it if visiting Ontario. I don't know the fines but I have always heard they are big.

You can have it in the vehicle but it can not have any power. At least that's what a trooper told a friend of mine that got caught with one. I have a portable one that just sits on the dash. I just pull it down when I need to.
