I've been on M/A and it the forum site is beyond sluggish to respond, and load... And honestly, it's one of those things where it's hurting the view and interest on the site. Beyond clearing cookies, checking my ISP bandwidth, and CPU (which isn't old by any means), what can be done to enjoy M/A better? - Erik
Hmm. I've never had the issue, but am pretty sure it's a minor issue that Nathan can easily address. Drop him a note and let him know of your problems.
It's been working fine for me, maybe the issue is with your ISP? Are you having issues on any other sites?
I've been seeing no speed issues. I was doing some database optimizing earlier this evening. That may have slowed things for a bit. What sort of device are you using?
It has been slow for me especially loading anything flash like a youtube video or an ad. But I put it down to something with my browser Firefox 35.0.1 and the flash plugin.
Whereas this is an accurate general description of me, I've not had nor am I having any performance problems with the MA site.
I had some problems last night too - the page would load about 10 percent, stop for a few seconds and then slowly load the rest of the page. I attributed it to the position of the moon and the gods of the Internet punishing me for something I posted here. It's running fine now.
My iPad w/ Safari on Wi-Fi is always a little slow with the occasional page errors every night. If I use my FiOS Fiber (150 Meg Up and Down) wired PC I have no issues at all anytime of the day.
Position of the moon has nothing to do with it. It's being investigated and will shortly be proven that the Talosians on Talos IV are to blame for the many perceived data processing anomalies being observed here on Earth.
Interesting. I just tried the same setup and am getting very fast load times. Even after clearing cache to make sure I get all new files each time. Then again I have a 50MB connection and have M/A hard coded into my Local Hosts file to save DNS time. Who is your internet service provider Erik?
Erick, I think your issue is local. I just ran a website check. This checks how long it takes for the basic functions to start when one requests a page. Please visit Online Visual Traceroute This will trace the route your connection takes to the server. If you send me a screen shot of the bottom section where the route is shown hop by hop with IP addresses. I'll take a look and see if that has any connection to the issues you speak about.
