I've been getting this from time to time, it says the server is busy and to try back later......I usually get this when trying to submit a reply to a thread, then if I wait a bit and hit the "submit" button again, I find the original post already there in the thread.

Just FYI in case it means anything....I don't know if this is a problem on my ISP's end or on the M/A end.

I'm using IE on Win 8.1 and I have not had this occur on any other forum.

I haven't had any error messages, but there is often a long delay when posting a message.

I get a message that asks me to wait before I can post again...

I just figured I was on some kind of "Mediated" posting review by the moderators....:D

Kind of like the delay they enforce in order to prevent the dreaded "Wardrobe Malfunction" as seen many times on TV....

I've contacted our hosting company about this.

A 503 error means the server is overloaded. We're still tweaking things since the move to the new bigger, faster, more everything server.

Crap a talk still gives me a parse error every time I post and the text I just posted remains in the reply box. I just delete what I post and then it shows up in the thread. Deleted and reinstalled Crap a talk at least a dozen times. I've final given up and just live with it.

This is just on my laptop, not any mobile device.

I've not had any delays in opening threads or posts or in posting except when I get the 503 error. Speed on normal use of the forum has been great lately.

Sounds like Nathan thinks it might be on their end, so we'll see what they find.

    Edit: Found this interesting explanation....

503 errors in the HTTP cycle

Any client (e.g. your Web browser or our CheckUpDown robot) goes through the following cycle when it communicates with the Web server:

1.Obtain an IP address from the IP name of the site (the site URL without the leading 'http://'). This lookup (conversion of IP name to IP address) is provided by domain name servers (DNSs).
2.Open an IP socket connection to that IP address.
3.Write an HTTP data stream through that socket.
4.Receive an HTTP data stream back from the Web server in response. This data stream contains status codes whose values are determined by the HTTP protocol. Parse this data stream for status codes and other useful information.

This error occurs in the final step above when the client receives an HTTP status code that it recognises as '503'.

That explains why my post is "there" after I get the 503 error message - it goes thru OK, but the server is too busy to send my a note saying "they got it."

I don't think I could have made it through Dave's explanation without sticking a fork in my eyes...

No matter what I use to post on I get the you have to wait 30 sec between post. If I just go back to the thread the post is there, if I wait and hit reply agin then I get a double post.

As long as I get the 503 and not the 459 code, I'm good with it!

OK, which 459 code did YOU mean?

I looked it up and got...

    Police - Burglary in progress

    Medical - Bleeding

    Urban - I love you

US Law - Poultry raising compliance

Social Security - proof of eligibility

Code Writers - bug on interface names fix

There are bound to be a few more.....

It has been a few days since I've seen a double post. I think the tweaks we performed on the server have solved that issue.

    Anyone getting 503 errors still?
