A note to the massive MA admin team:

For the past 2-3 days, whenever I 'post' a response to a thread or submit an 'edit' to a previous post, I've got a 50% (estimated) chance of getting a white page displaying this error instead of being sent forward to the thread I was modifying with the new text/post displayed

    "This site can’t be reached

The webpage at https://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/editpost.php?do=updatepost&p=396823 might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
    ERR_SPDY_PROTOCOL_ERROR"

I can click the back button and, if it was an edit, my changes will still be there, so I can just click 'post' again and it seems to work as it should (I've never had the second try fail). If it was a new post, the text I wrote is lost to the ether and I'm taken back to a blank box where my post content used to be, so I have to re-type.

I don't think I've seen that error before at MA before this week. I'm not seeing any other issues on other forums (NAM or MetroplexMINI.org), so I don't think it's my browser or local network issues (I work from home, so I'm constantly on the network with no issues and I've got fiber, so lots of bandwidth).

Thanks for posting - I'll have to look into this and see if I can reproduce this. Are you seeing it often or randomly?

ERR_SPDY_PROTOCOL_ERROR is Chrome specific it seems. I didn't do a ton of research Aaron, but the jist of the issue is that when using a VPN and AVAST and possibly some other combo's of stuff you get the ERR_SPDY_PROTOCOL_ERROR randomly. Google or Bing or DuckDuckGo ERR_SPDY_PROTOCOL_ERROR. You'll see a bunch of choices.

Makes sense... I finally got around to putting avast on the machine about a week ago! I thought it was something site related. Thanks!

Interesting and fits my experience so far. I use Avast but don't use Chrome and haven't seen this issue.

talking about error messages - I've been getting this one for months, any browser

    404
    Not Found

The resource requested could not be found on this server!

Just click home and if you have any new post/like alerts, clicking to see them will give you a 404 on this site. Any other place but Home page usually works

@ fishmonger - note my post regarding the chrome browser issue was not related to the 404 post you mentioned. I will need to look into that issue, I'm able to reproduce it. Right now I'm quite focused on the site migration which will allow a lot more options and stability (at least that is the plan) for these functions.

    Thanks for reporting this one.
