Hi folks! Just registered today after lurking around for a while This looks like a nice forum with more activity than most of the others I've tried out. Anyway, this is my late 2004 MCS facelift. Bought it bone stock 4 months ago, and I sure didn't know there was so much funny aftermarket parts for these boys. So far I'm pretty happy with the car itself. Low on gas, enough power for daily use and all over pretty cheap to maintain. Surprisingly funny to drive, actually. What I remember doing so far: - Carbon cover handles - Carbon cover gas cap - Carbon stubby antenna - Black upper and lower grille - Milltek cat back - Black belt line kit - New low beam xenon bulbs - AP coilovers - Porsche Strosek 17x8 ET30 & 17x9 ET30 (offset written is with 20mm adapters) - Removed bonnet stripes - White vinyl on roof and side mirrors - Swapped the originale chrome side vents with black oem non-s vents - Smoked side indicators - Led license plate bulbs - Led interior bulbs - New coolant tank as it was leaking. Bought one in aluminium. - Silver front indicator bulbs - Tinted front indicators - Orange driving light bulbs - Coilover "socks" for protection against dirt - White Mini Cooper emblem front and rear - Rear wiper delete kit (not mounted because I'm gonna replace the rear window first) When I first bought it: How it turned out after the first drop and a "new" set of wheels. I know it's not everyones taste, but I like it this way After a little more drop up front to get it even with rear:
WOW ! Very nice looking R53....:cornut: Not typically into the lowered look...But that ride is SEXY!!!....
Haha thanks guys! I appreciate any kind of feedback, so there's no need to be gentle here I've also ordered a pair of 2.9 axles from driveshaftshop.com because of the vibration after lowering the car. I hope they will hold up and eliminate the problem. The Driveshaft Shop | Mini 2001-2006 Cooper S 475HP Level 2.9 Axles I'm also looking for another set of wheels. More race inspired like the Compomotive TH 1780 or something similar. I want to be able to track this thing without any issues, so I'm therefore looking for a less aggressive set of wheels. My fuel pump also broke down the other day so I ordered a new one from ECS Tuning. Don't know if that was the cheapest place to order from, but my personal experience with ECS is top notch after ordering parts for my previous S4 2.7 biturbo.
BTW, I think those wheels look great. However, that MINI needs M/A Stickers cause no other MINI in Norway has some. PM me your address and if you would like a white a silver background. I'll send some over.
Bump Famguy, I noticed you said you upgraded to the 2.9 axle due to the vibration. I know this is last year but how has it held up? Any response is appreciated! Thanks
Nice looking car. Those wheels look like some I used to see on the 928. Welcome to M/A! You need to find a new decal guy though... can't spell Hooligan!
