I'm looking for a performance exhaust for my r53. I can't decide on a brand, so I'm open to anything really. Just want to get away from my factory exhaust! I'd even be willing to trade my factory exhaust plus cash on my end if that is appealing to anyone. Thanks in advance!

The consensus best exhaust for the R53 is the Milltek resonated. It's good quality, good fitment, and sounds like a million bucks. Deep, mellow tone without the rasp or drone of other exhausts.

This is exactly what I got from Eric at Helix a few years back and it still sounds great and the quality is top notch.

Having driven behind Dave.0 numerous times and I can attest that it sounds nice.

I use Milltek. Stratmosphere is very similar to Milltek and a good alternative, just depends on which is less expensive at the time you are purchasing.
Milltek does not drone and is a little louder than JCW.
Borla Sport/Race is louder than Milltek but does tend to drone when cruising on highway.

I have the Stratmosphere and like it. But the Milltek form everything I have heard is great exhaust also. Just don't go cheep, ask how I know.

Milltek all the way! I have an '06 MCS and the Milltek has been on since '07...still looks great and sounds even better...just a nice burble! It's well worth the money.

Another huge Milltek fan here. It even does a good job of managing (but not "taming" in a bad way) a catless RMW header...

Mcs02, I've seen some of those cheap eBay exhausts, and I won't lie, I was tempted to try one out for a while! But as always, I'm sure there's a reason they're so cheap. I really like the sound of a milltek, but I've always been a borla fan as well. I road trip quite a bit with my Mini, so I really don't want to sacrifice a quiet ride on the highway. Does borla just have too much drone to be a good option?

I would say yes. I really believe the Milltek or the Stratmosphere would be best. All the guys that say Millteck know what they are talking about and I do value their opinion.
