I'm looking to buy my first Mini! I've wanted one forever, and I finally have the resources to look for one I really want. I found the perfect one this weekend, but it got sold yesterday. Here's what I'm after: -2006 -Hardtop -6-speed manual -Hyper blue with white bonnet stripes -White roof w/ sunroof -70,000 or less -heavy window tint As long as the parts/tires are in good condition and not about to fall apart or need to be replaced I'm not too concerned. Aesthetically it's pretty specific what I'm looking for, but I'm willing to wait it out. Since I found one, I'm hoping to find another eventually. Here's a picture that's pretty much what I'm looking for:
There is one on autotrader right now, a 2006 JCW in this color combination. It even has the driving lights, chrome mirror caps, and tint like your photo. You can always add the stripes and change the wheels to get this specific look.
Welcome to MA! Hyper blue is my next favorite color to Chile Red. R53 good choice not that I am partial. But you need to know Chile Red adds more HP
There are actually two with this year and color combo on Autotrader right now. One is the one I wanted to buy but it got sold, and the other I'm wary of. I've been told that too many performance parts on a regular car can put undue stress on other parts of the engine, making them conk out sooner. (That's probably another thread in and of itself.) But maybe I shouldn't worry about that?
Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance, the FUN and Friendly MINI Community. Link to the one that you think is too modded please. We might know the car.
Sure thing: Cars for Sale: 2006 MINI Cooper S in Irvine, CA 92606: Hatchback Details - 411000617 - Autotrader
It depends on the parts. Done correctly I would not worried. Besides some times when some one mods their car it is their baby and they take better care of it then some you that just puts gas in it and drives. I like buying from an individual because I can tell when I talk to them if they cared for the car. I have 140 k on my Mini, its an 02. You can go to my garage and see my mods its still in great shape. If moded correctly I would say thats a pause. We are here to help. Also when you get your Mini we will help spend your money, I meant help pick out Mods! Hurry up Minis on the Dragon is coming soon, its a great place for a new MINI owner.
Here is the 2006 JCW I was referring to (it's not the modded one, and doesn't appear to be a sold one) http://atcm.co/S2PVDP/187EBE61
It's got a few more miles on it than I'm willing to look at for now, but I'll keep a tab on it. Thanks!
Yee...contact Jan at RMW, he'll know the car if it has all those parts of his on it and it's in his own backyard.
Awesome, will do. In the meantime, I'll still be checking out any other MINIs that line up with what I'm looking for.
Modding a MINI [especially a Gen 1] is akin to going to school and graduating...it better prepares you for the long haul. :cornut:
Wow, just read this thread. No decision there, that's a friggn steal on that 06 R53! And it's ultra low mileage too.
Be my guest? Ah, no thanks... Just stated what I know to be so about a car you seemed to know little about. Enjoy what you found. You're not related to genik are you?
