Newman/RMW camshaft on the left, Crower NS1 on the right. Notice the rough as cast sand features on the Newman camshaft (left), which leaves burrs on the lobe edge, undercuts on the mold line are potential stress risers. What can't be seen in the photo is the Crower/NS1's (right) micro-polished surface on journals and lobes. The Newman/RMW bearing surfaces have a brushed finish.
