I'm looking at an 06 MCS pretty much loaded except for nav. It's pristine with 10K miles. It will cost me about $18 K. I don't know but seems like a fair price. Right at what Edmunds appraiser gave me. Any opinions?
Any car with 10k miles is basically brand new, and the 05/06 models have the fewest common problems, so that's pretty much as good as it gets. Read this: MotoringFile » MINI R50/R53 Buyers Guide
The absolute best thing to do is take it to an independent Mechanic and have them look it over for you.
I'd drive it, have it looked at by a mechanic you trust (if you're not mechanical) and than offer 18K sales tax included . I think that's a real fair price for a brand new used MINI. Mark
No matter what you plan to buy, always get it completely checked out FIRST ! I bought my 06 with 18K miles, and paid $18,500. I had to do the following: new tires, cabin and air filter, oil service, front motor mount, plugs and wires, replaced the coolant tank, new hose clamps on the PS lines. I also got a new set of 17" Mini S Lites with the deal. I think I did OK on this purchase. I Love this MCS ! What else can I say . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
05 and 06 are the best years for R53 generation one Mini's. Finding one with the right options with that few miles will be difficult. If you have been looking, looks like you found it. The price is fair and reasonable, I say stop thinking and buy it. You wont be sorry. Welcome to the community.
