Motoring Alliance celebrates 5 years of chattering about MINIs so we thought we’d take a look at some other things that happened five years ago. It seems like yesterday… Simon Cowell left American Idol. Conan O’Brien filmed his last Tonight Show episode. The film “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1” was released. […] More...
I joined 5 years ago, but back then NAM was the big thing, and I was new to forums so I stayed with the mainstream boards. Unfortunately my original account got deleted in one of your house cleaning sessions, but I ended up coming back when I realized all the misinformation floating around the big boards. When I rejoined M/A I never thought this would end up being my only "Go To" forum, and other than RMW, it is my ONLY forum! You nailed it Nathan! The moderation aspect couldn't be better (I would rather get an email from you, telling me to cool down than just rack up ban points, plus you have actual guidelines not Forum Law. If somebody is getting heated in an argument you look at each point of view before the emails go out.) The members that make up the board are people I can actually call friends not only here but offline as well, and that says a lot! Even though I am just a registered (non paying) member, and get all the adds, they aren't bad when compared to other sites. You keep the site looking good and clean, plus you change the look once and a while. Its not the same image in the header from when the site first came online like the others. Looking back at everything, I am glad you deleted that original account, even though I wish I would have given M/A more attention back when it started. I can honestly tell you that I will be here for at least the next 5 years, probably a lot longer than that! It would take some sort of disaster to get me out of MINI's and off the boards, and (yes an F-series joke I know...) the F56 generation isn't enough to make me want to leave. So keep doing as you're doing, and here is to the next 5 years of M/A! beer
Thanks Nathan - You gave me a card five years ago at the Dragon and I have been on sense day one. The difference is night and day, you do a great job.
