I am nervous but 105k and still running on the CVT hoping to make 150 before replacing....I have replaced the CVT 2 times at 50k and 100k

    2003 R50

Only problems are when very wet out the check engine light comes on or when going through a car wash but 4 starts later the code clears (Multiple cylinder misfire)

Good luck, I thought you meant that you had 105 on your original. Hope the third time is the charm & you make 150.

Brian, didn't you mean to say you replaced the fluid at 50 and 100? (I don't believe you're on your third tranny... :eek6:)

We have a club member with 150K on his original CVT, still going strong and he tracks it at least 3 -4 times a year!

He has the dealer change the fluid every 30K - and so far, so good!

Wow that is great. I'll still run far away from any MINI with a CVT.

Nice to hear some good CVT stories.

I just thought it was important to counter some of the negatives about the CVT. However, given the stupid cost of replacing one of these and the dearth of parts or service information I wouldn't buy one either.
