$125 track day at Willow Springs-Big Willow Track-February 5th in SoCal

I'm down for that. I'm stock on street tires so there is no way I would win but it would be fun.

 

I am trying to put together a MINI Shootout during this event. And if we can get enough interest there can be trophies and even prizes for the fastest time of the day like:
1st Place: Free Track Day Certificate (Timing Included)
2nd Place: $60 Certificate for an ExtremeSpeedTrackEvent
3rd Place: $30 Certificate for an ExtremeSpeedTrackEvent

If I can get enough interest perhaps this can be expanded to a monthly event with a cumulative points and a winner for the year.

I'm pretty sure I'm down for this. It will depend on the result of tomorrows event.

 

I was out at ExtremeSpeed's event on Saturday 1/8 and had a blast. Still looking for MINI's to sign up for the next one on 2/5. Their events are significantly cheaper than any others, the next cheapest price I can find for an event at the same track is $160.00.

I ran yesterday (1/9/2010) @ Streets. It was great. These guys run a good group. I spoke with Joel from the organization and he was big on trying to get a Mini Challenge going for nex months event at Big Willow (2.5 Course).

I have run Big Willow before and it is fun to do in a Mini. The stress on your brakes and suspension is not as aggressive as at other courses. It is VERY fast. The one time I looked down at the speedo I was there I was doing 119-120mph down the front straight. Good fun. I will be there. I hope you will show as well.

As far a price this is AMAZING. Last I ran, a day at Big Willow was $230 with a different group. I'm so happy to pay this to run. I will be there. Tom will be there. You should be too!

Man, what other motivation does someone need? Mini Challenge, event discount, free timing, and now Dez Ballard is gonna be there instructing. I'm surprised more of our local folks aren't jumping all over this.

I wish. I got half a mind to just park the car until then so nobody runs into it again. Looks like 4 Mini's signed up. I am in the advanced group. Looking at some of the HP in it, looks like I will need to loosen up my point by finger for those long straights.
