So the president of FLUCC (Fiat Lancia Unlimited car club) came up with 75 pretty piss poor reasons why one would buy a Fiat 500 over a MINI. The reality is we tend to like the idea of the 500 and our looking forward to our test of one later this spring. But a lost like this can’t go unanswered by the MINI community. So we want you give him double the reasons why anyone should buy a MINI over the Fiat 500. Yes 150 reasons why a MINI is superior. Let’s get started... Source - MotoringFile
:cornut: Most Americans can't read Italian and therefore can't read Italian Gauges.:lol: Jasonopcorn:opcorn:
The MINI is NOT butt ugly. The MINI is German, NOT Italian, so it will actually be reliable. Three words: J. C. W.
When was the last time you saw a Fiat in the U.S. that wasn't a collector car? Service and parts. No dealerships = PITA for owners.
How many Monte Carlo rally wins does FIAT have? MINI was voted "European Car of the Century" by a panel of 130 international journalists. FIAT, not so much...
I have gotten "lucky" with the Mini countless times. Never with the Fiat. Reason #1 and the only one needed.
Reason #150.... MINI wins the Abu Dhabi Challenge.....I don't seeeee you Fiat.... Chortle, Chortle, Chortle
Exactly, does nothing for me, except that it might look half way decent disappearing in my rear view mirror...... Does it come with a flower holder? Lol
I just don't get it. FIAT is the parent company of Ferrari. How could a company with THAT pedigree in its genes make something that looks so much like an ugly French car?
Be very clear that Fiat had absolutely nothing to do with what Ferrari was and is... There is nothing Ferrari in a Fiat or vice versa. Ferrari is Captain of their own ship.
Fiat Lancia has a fine record of rally wins. Maybe not in the 64 Monte, but probably more than Mini. I don't mind the 500, can't see buying one, but it is nice to see another small fun car for sale. I think life would be boring if we all drove the same thing.
The #1 reason not to buy a FIAT? Because it's a FIAT!!! I owned a Spyper 2000 back in the early 80's. I noticed back then that no one ever bought a second FIAT, no one!
They always seem to have a rusting problem as well as mechanical issues. But that was then and this is now... Maybe those problems have been solved. Not that I'm in the market for one, I am intrigued with the new engine technology.
