After a few months of waiting, I finally got the new struts and had them installed. I'm now running custom shortened Bilstein struts. I had them shortened a bit shorter than the vmaxx/KW struts which were the shortest options I could find. The valving is changed accordingly to match the lowered ride height.

I'll post up impressions once I log some more seat time with them. Should handle well, so I'm looking forward to it

Fronts have more room to go down but the lack of front camber is holding it up at the moment. I'm looking into my options for camber plates so I can work on going lower.

Current arch measurements are 20.375" and 20.875"

Not at all sure why you want to go that low. No offence, but that looks really odd to me.

I much prefer the look of a car with a nice low stance with tightly fitted wheels. I've never been a fan of stock or moderate ride height cars. Just personal preference. I'm sure some people love stock ride height and wheelgap....but I'm not one of them:lol:

As a comparison, this is my car after bringing it home. I was not a fan of the stock stance:crazy:

Much as there is a "group" that likes the race car look and outfit their MINIs with wings, BBKs and the like. Or a group that more into the graphics and go with more stickers and vinyl there is the stance "group". They like the lowered look and solving the technical challenges it takes to get there. They are more prevalent in the VW realm, Rally has really taken this form far with a MINI and while may not be a fan as a car guy I respect the dedication it takes to reach the level that this clubbie has obtained.

I was honestly just asking. I have never seen one taken that low and it caught me by surprise not to see any wheel gap, so my eye was was not seeing what I am use to. I am certain it was not an easy task and you did a good job. The cool thing about these cars is the differant approach each person takes.

Mine is close to that low... I am getting it raised to between a half and 3/4 of an inch tomorrow because that "on the stops" looks very kewl, but it will jar the teeth out of your skull going over the most innocuous of bumps. That and rubbing everything including the backs of cock roaches on the road gets a bit annoying.

That's the point of the custom struts. I'm not on the stops:Thumbsup: Very comfortable ride with zero bottoming out.

Roads? What roads? Are you talking about those paths that PennDOT never gets the snow off of?

Yup, I'm part of the StanceWorks team and have been working with them on it. I was down at SoWo sharing a vendor booth with the other StanceWorks guys and got to check out the coilovers on Mike's e36. It's a truly great setup.

I'm set up to offer the StanceWorks coilovers for the MINI platform if I can put together enough interested buyers.

Rally, not that I expect you to give away your secrets........ Did you use spacer adapters to convert your 4x100 to 5x??? lug bolt pattern or did you custom drill and tap the axle wheel flange / discs to the 5x??? pattern? Just wondering:D

No adapters. My car is officially 5x112 now. Had the hubs custom machined by an axle company that produces drag-race axles and then just redrilled OEM rotors.
