2003 PS/B Cooper Asking $6000, clear title in hand 107,130 miles McKinney, TX email scobibbee at yahoo dot com if interested or shoot me a pm Up for consideration is my beloved Winston, who faithfully shuttled me to and from work every day, enjoyed brisk workouts, and served as one test mule for many Texas Speedwerks' prototype and test parts. While I hate to get rid of him, there are too many cars in the stable. What makes him a very-unCooper-like Cooper? Glorious, naturally-aspirated power and plenty of it. He's one of the quickest R50's on the planet. And, he sounds AMAZING. Still averages 30 mpg on my daily commute of mixed street/hwy. Lots of parts on him that I have zero interest in removing (so don't bother asking). He's got a few door dings, but still looks great. Sold as is. Winston has a later model, R53 6-speed Getrag transmission that we swapped in several years ago. We did a write up that's been shared hundreds of times and is still used for this process today. While swapping it in, we also used a JB Racing lightweight flywheel, Cooper S clutch and pressure plate, and installed a Quaife LSD. While this seems like it would make things confuzzeled to service, it doesn't - everything on the car is R50 EXCEPT the gearbox and associated parts attached to it (clutch slave, piping, shift tower), axle shafts, and shift cables (which are R53 bits). I replaced the water pump, alternator, belt tensioner, belt and battery last year... Tie-rod ends, control arm, and a-arm ball-joints replaced in late 2011. Serviced with synthetic from Day 1 (which was almost exclusively Royal Purple). Performance - Custom Thumper Performance cylinder head that's ported/polished/decked, Crower NS2 cam, ARP fasteners, aFe cold air intake, Milltek header/cat, Magnaflow cat-back, all tuned by RMW. R53 Getrag 6-speed conversion, Quaife LSD, JB Racing lightweight flywheel, stock Cooper S clutch and pressure plate. Suspension - KW Variant 1 coilovers (great on the street), IE upper offset strut mounts, H&R 19mm rear swaybar, Powergrid swaybar endlinks, TSW x-brace, Powerflex rear a-arm bushings, lots of Powerflex elsewhere. Wheels/Tires/Brakes - Texas Speedwerks BDM BBK, SS lines, TSW rear rotors, Porterfield R4-S pads all around, 17x7 Kosei K1-TS in anthracite wrapped in Conti ExtremeContact DWS in 205/45R17, wheel stud conversion, uber-light wheel nuts. Appearance - Whalen Shift Machine (hey, why's this thing have the 6-speed pattern? ), functional front splitter, rear-end aero mods, silver De Zavala flag on the roof (needs refreshed, CooperFlags did it originally), Cravenspeed shift well cover, 50th anniversary mirror covers. Audio - Sony head unit w/ built-in iPod connectivity (cable in glove box, charge and listen, head unit controls iPod!) and USB drive plug in front (teh awesome), plays MP3's, Pyle component speakers in the doors, Pyle 6x9's in the rear - it thumps.
