HI! I have a 2006 Cooper S that has been lowered by a previous owner. Although I LOVE the look...I really am not a huge fan in the comfort/ride...I also have 'no-flat' tires...very low profiles...Anyway...I would like to get stock suspension springs put back on and different tires. Does anyone have some stock suspension springs that would work for my car? Would also consider trading if someone was wanting to lower their car (Im in Northern IL) Any advice where I can get them without paying an arm and a leg? Also..my husband is very mechanical..is this something that a person with mechanical skills can do? Ive gotten an estimate from a MINI dealer and a non MINI dealer...very pricey!!! Also, advised I would need a front end alignment. Any input would be greatly appreciated Happy Motoring!!!
Hi Lori, You need the correct tools to swap springs, so unless you husband has them you'd have to take it somewhere. Yes, you'd definitely need wheel alignment after. Good luck with your search, I'm sure others will be along shortly also and Welcome to M/A!
Hey Lori, Do you know what springs are on yours currently. I may be interested to take them off your hands if the price is right.
Let us know what you have on your car now. Will help with whether or not the stock set-up will improve your ride or not. I have my original sport suspension (springs/dampers) available if you are interested.
