Hi, Im a newbie. My girlfriends 09 started howling and I wrongly assumed the serp v belt. After removing the tire and inner fender well and replacing the belt we started up with much satisfaction. Only to learn the squeal is still there and now the alt idiot light is on. We didnt touch the alt or any wires. Whats going on. So now I need an ac comp and appearently there are two types. 02 to 08 or according to some, half of 09?? so we read the build code on the door and it says 09/08 but do the Germans transpose this and its really 08 of 09?? So ultimately we have an 09 mini, no S, just a mini that everyone I talk to has an opinion about which I need. So HELP. Also How hard is for this to do, saw a vid where the whole front end was removed?? WTH? Please help me. I thank you, Mike

It is a 2009. Thats why we are confused. I thank you for your reply. I was so hoping not to have to take the front end off. Thats kinda crazy but it is what it is I suppose. Thanks again, Mike
same Ok I used the site yoiu gave me and yes its says its an 08, title says its an 2009?? Oh well. Thanks now we know
