Eric’s Riverrun is a 270± mile, all-day driving tour using some of Ohio’s most interesting and challenging roads. This year we have a new route that heads east from Columbus thru Coshocton, by Salt Fork, Mt. Pleasant and to the Ohio River at the Pike Island Locks and dam. Bring a picnic lunch, or find a restaurant (or fast food) nearby. Pike Island has no picnic tables or facilities, but there are many places to eat near Mt. Pleasant, Martin’s Ferry, Adena and Cadiz. We will return thru Cadiz and end at Tom’s Ice Cream Parlor in Zanesville. (5205 New Albany Rd, 43054) between 8 and 9 am. We should be at the Ohio River around 12:30 pm and finish by 6 pm., depending on the time spent sightseeing. There is no fixed schedule nor any assigned speeds, other than posted speed limits. This is a leisurely driving tour rather than a rally. Sponsored by the North American MGB Register, the Buckeye Miata Club, and the Central Ohio British Car Club Council, we invite all driving enthusiasts, regardless of vehicle make, model or type, to join us on Eric’s Riverrun 2013. You may reserve your spot after April 14th. Please contact Susan Logan at [email protected] or (740) 363-2203 for more details and to reserve your spot. There is a $10.00 fee to cover organizational expenses. All proceeds will be donated in Eric Jones’ memory to The James Cancer Hospital for Mesothelioma Research Fund.
Graduation weekend for my daughter, so I'm out. I'm glad I got to experience some of the excitement with the hocking hills drive! Next year for sure!
I would like to finally make it but my schedule has gotten a little crazy. The powers that be at work decided yesterday I had to go to Brazil today. Will be back in time for the dragon though! Unfortunately I could end up going down river run weekend too. Maybe that means I won't....
If anyone is interested there will be event magnets for sale. Contact Susan Logan to reserve yours. Nothing looks cooler on your boot lid.
Good point Nathan. If you are coming please contact Susan Logan. If you just show up you may not get a route book. We try & keep track of numbers to keep our printing costs low.
As of last night we have 62 entries for Riverrun. If you have not done Riverrun before, it is a self guided tour. We provide a route book & you bring your car & a sense of back road adventure. Get together with a few friends & have a wonderful day wandering the scenic back roads of Ohio. All cars entered do not drive together.
so what do you guys think I should do? I have to make a choice. Bone stock handling car but with good power. or a Mini with great brakes, good power, and of course good handling? 1966 Austin-Healey Sprite or take a backup Mini????? don't get me wrong the Sprite works great but I thought it might be more fun in a Mini? I like to think of my Sprite as a nice comfy Sunday to get ice cream car.
