This car must be scary to drive. from the article: This 1969 Mini Cooper runs a built, naturally aspirated Honda B18C good for a deranged 230 plus WHP. Further said to have cost over $50k to build, the car looks well put together in photos with what we’d call good, driver cosmetics. We love a good original or period-modified Mini, but with plenty still around it’s easy to appreciate a heavily re-worked one that can go toe-to-toe with a modern sports cars in a straight line. 15 pictures and full article .
I agree Dave. But ya know, these little hot rods are cool as hell when it comes down to it. They are in a class seperate from the regular classics. It's just for fun and the thrill of driving such a go-fast little car.
there's a guy who show's up every year to our British Car Show (put on by ..| British Car Club of Charleston) that drives a Riley Elf with a V-Tech that's pretty impressive...
A Red one? Kreature? This one? My buddy has a D series in his P'up and it puts a smile on his face every time he drives it. It's not only fast, but dead reliable - it starts every time and he's put 20K almost completely trouble free (it's a Mini after all) miles on it. He got all sorts of funny comments on the walkie talkies among the corner workers the first time he passed a 911 down the straight at Heartland Park! :biggrin5: The d series is a nice fit actually, and you get a 5 speed in the deal.....this is my buddies P'up. After I spent what I did rebuilding the engine in Buzz, I almost had a forehead slap moment - I coulda hadda Honda motor in it for the same money. And I doubt it would have hurt the value of Buzz since no one likes the Clubman in the first place, and it's a wagon in the second place. If I had it to do again, I know which way I'd go.....
