My wife gets mailings from MINI and just got one that includes among other things an article about an owner of one of the first MINIs imported to the U.S. Stories like these are what makes one an even prouder MINI enthusiast. The article is at http://www.miniusa.com/haroldqa/index.html.

Had the pleasure of meeting both owner and MINI when MTTS stopped at Road America a few years ago. He attracted as much attention as the newly unveiled JCW. Properly detailed Silk Green is just about as good as it gets. Impressive and inspiring.

It's comforting to see the the flip side of the typical "faults and fixes" saga.

    That is really cool!
Although I cannot fathom over 200,000 miles on pads and rotors... :)

I met Harold and his MINI a few years ago when we both went to MITM (2009 I think). We explored the possibility of traveling together, but the timing just didn't work. We did meet at the event and had a great time.
