Griot’s Spray On Car Wash This is not for everyone. Some are staunchly opposed to using any waterless wash product but if you’re one of those “get the dust off in an emergency” types, this is one of the best on the market. Follow the directions carefully and please don’t rub rocks into your car’s […] More...
Griot’s stuff is highly over priced but they do make an excellent DA that has now replaced my 2 old 7424 Portal Cable which I have used for years with great success. $139.00 Griots Garage 6 Inch Random Orbital Polisher Even though Griot’s Garage 6 Inch Random Orbital Polisher is a powerful tool that’s capable of removing swirls, water spots, light scratches and oxidation, it is still very paint-friendly, even when used in the hands of a novice. The random orbit motion of the pad prevents heat from building up in one spot. Less heat is produced by the polisher and due to the random orbit motion, less heat is transferred to your paint. Features: •Powerful 7-Amp, 850-Watt Motor •2,500 - 6,800 Orbits Per Minute •Variable Speed, Wider RPM Range •Wider 5/16" orbit pattern for faster and better results •Ergonomic Adjustable Handle •More Torque, Better Performance •Long 10 Foot Power Cord •6 Inch Backing plate included
I bought this one at Harbor Freight on sale. 6 in. 5.7 Amp Heavy Duty Dual Action Variable Speed Polisher It works great. I have a lot of Griot's products though. I live about thirty miles from Griot's brick and mortar store in Tacoma, so I save on shipping and I get a 10% MINI club discount there. I use their spray on car wash a lot.
I'm still plugging along with my old PC 6336. I keep dreaming about a Rupes or Cyclo. My favorites: 1. Opticlean 2. ONR 3. Prima Hydro 4. Prima Nero 5. Prima Clarity About to try out a detail of Keira with some Dodo Juice stuff - Low on Eau, Supernatural Hybrid Wax, Born Slippery clay lube
Supernatural Hybrid Wax is awesome. Use it on our rims also and say goodbye to sticking brake dust. :ihih:
I picked up some Bouncer's wheel wax as well. I used to use Prima wheel armor but decided to give something else a whirl.
I stopped using wheel wax because they all melt away because of wheel heat. Wax is soft and made to protect paint from UV and it captures dirt it is the wrong product to use on any rims. I switched to a sealant with a layer of Rain-X and have had nothing but excellent results.
I'm currently trying out Sonax Polymer Net Shield on my wheels... So far, I'm very impressed. Also using the Net Shield on the hood to test it's effects on keeping water spots at bay over the hot turbo (also ordered a heat shield to help with that, too). I use the Griots DA, as well - it's fantastic, especially for the money.
The TQ of the Griots DA is good and strong which is needed to keep the pad spinning when when polishing at lower speeds. This is what's required to get modern nano tech compounds to work correctly. Remember we are not using our grandfathers turtle wax with sand in it anymore. The Portal Cable does not have that and I have used my PC's for years because they were the best until the new Griots DA. Now with my Mikita high speed rotary with a wool pad and my new DA I can take on every paint defect. Now my Porter Cable is sitting on the shelf until someone wants to buy it. Don't get me wrong it's a great DA for a person starting out but I have advanced past its limits.
Other products I use and love: Meguiars M101 Foam Cut Compound Meguiars M205 Mirror Glaze finishing polish Prima Epic wax Prima Amigo glaze/final polish Meguiars D155 Last Touch spray detailer (great for touch ups, or diluted 1:1 for claying) Prima Hydro hydrophobic spray sealant Auto Magic Hydro Shine (hard to find, currently using Prima Hydro as a substitute) Einszett Lederpflege (leather cleaner/conditioner) Einszett Gummipflege (for rubber seals, trim, etc) Black WOW (for textured black plastic) Stoner's Invisble Glass
Zillion, At the Dragon this your I will show you something much better than Black WOW that last for a year and stays dry.
Griots car warsh soap Prima Hydro A bunch of waffle weave towels Loads & loads of microfiber towels. Prima Nero Prima Clarity Sonax Dave O's secret sauce for those plastic bits on the outside!

Just used that this past weekend and didn't understand why it took me so long to get it. Big fan of Dodo Juice products. Not an earth shattering product but Stoners invisible glass cleaner is a must.
