Hey guys I got this 750.00 rebate from mini for test driving the mini cooper S. they did not have the mini S configured the way I wanted so had to order it. According to mini tracking my car is finished being produced tomorrow. From what I can tell the car will not arrive in NY until July 5Th. Of course true to rebates I guess Minis rebate says the car must be delivered by July 2nd. I ordered my car the day after the event given production schedules I guess it was impossible to meet the July 2 deadline. Seems to me Mini should just tell customers this rebate is only good for in stock cars. Really pisses me off!! Has anyone had any luck getting credit beyond the date of these rebates?
I'd have a discussion with the Motoring Adviser about this. Even to the point of saying you will walk away from the car if the voucher is not honored.
Back in October, my wife got the same $750.00 deal with a delivery date of January 1st. Wasn't going to happen with an order. Tried everything, even MINI USA, nada. Told the MA (who I know) we were going to walk away and he said OK. Yes, it is simply a scam to get you to buy something off their lot. If you check the timing, on when they offer these rebates, you will see that there is NEVER enough time allowed for a order. :nonod: Jim
All true, but some dealers will honor the expired promo. I have seen it happen a few times around here. Depends who they are and if they really want your business. $750 is a small discount in the long run. As your M/A or see the MINI sales manager. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't!
Picking up our new S on Saturday. Ordered at the Event with the 750 rebate and the car is here now. Got lucky I guess.
