24' high Tsunami hits Japan. Will affect 20 countries. Hawaii and LA and all of the coast of California being told to head for higher ground. Hope all you folks out in Cali are going to be OK.

God bless Japan and everyone facing that incoming wave. Please get to higher ground. The video coming out of Japan shows a level of destruction that most of us will hopefully never witness.

I've been up for a few hours watching live video from Hawaii hoping it didn't happen there also. The video from Japan show some of the worst devastation I've ever seen. My prayers are certainly going to to all of those affected.

I know of two folks who are (or were) in Japan teaching. One has checked in... still trying to find out if the other one was there or not.

I was watching it last night as it developed. The destructive power of mother nature is truly awe inspiring.

Huge whirlpool caused by the earthquake. I can't imagine how much water has to be flowing through the hole in the earth's crust to cause this......

Why is that boat hanging around the whirlpool or is it an abandoned ship?

Mother Nature plays no favorites that's for sure!

Makes you wonder if anywhere is safe to live?

The boardwalk residents here in Santa Cruz were evacuated early this morning.I live about 5 minutes from there but I doubt that we will see any real effects from the the Tsunami? It is however a bit unnerving seeing coastguard choppers and C-130's doing more than average fly over this morning.

I have a friend in Tokyo, I haven't been able to get a hold of him yet. My goddaughters and their parents are over in Okinawa. They were evacuated from their base but are safe.

    Thanks Steve.......
Somehow I thought the stopper got knocked loose on the bottom of the ocean by the quake and once dry, all the nut cases in the world would be able to just drive up to our borders....:D

    Awwwww.... You're right Mark....

How could I forget about those hot salty cashews from the day we ran "Hunting for Salamanders". Fun time, good people, super drive through SE Ohio....

I hope Chuck is starting to think about the "2011 River Run" and putting something together. Let Nathan see how we MOM's "Do It". Can't wait....

Yepper, batten down the hatches, seal all water tight doors and stand by to take heavy seas. So, you say chocolate helps?
