I haven't been feeling well the past 24 hours, but decided to get up and head into work this morning. Got there and within 15 minutes decided that my sinuses were not going to cooperate, so I packed it up and headed home. Was home for 10 minutes when M.A.D. called me to tell me that they were going to put our 12 year old golden retriever down. I feel guilty because I have been blaming a lot of my allergy issues on him shedding so much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sorry for your loss. We have 2 Golden's, 1 of each, both rescued. Wonderful creatures. Wife has allergies but that won't stop her from rescueing another animal. Sorry you don't feel well.
Synpathy sickness for your dog? Sorry to hear you had to put him down, but 12 is a long life for a golden. All you can do now is remember all the wonderful times and joy he brought into your life. We have poodles because of my allergies, since they don't shed or produce the dander other dogs do.....a nasal steroid spray will relieve your symptoms and not cause other problems like increased blood pressure or bounce back when you stop using it. Go find another fur buddy as soon as you can, it'll help with your grieving.
He lost his hearing about a year ago and has slowly been declining since then. We noticed in the last week that he was drinking water non-stop and just wasn't himself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've seen that before B.A.D. and you are right that it was most likely time. We say that as long as their quality of life is good, we will do what ever necessary, but when that gos it is time. It is never easy and I truly understand your loss. Jim
just because they have 4 legs and fur, doesn't mean they aren't part of the family. I'm sorry for your loss, and hope you have many great memories to help you through.
Our pets manage to wheedle themselves nicely into our hearts. Losing one is akin to losing a best friend as well as a member of one's family. I am truly sorry for your loss, Brian.
Too many people try to keep a pet around for themselves. That's seldom best for the animal. You did the right thing. Like Nathan said, Remember the good times and keep him in your memory.
So sorry to hear this Brian.... I agree with getting a new furbaby as soon as you are ready. It would probably help lil' BAD too.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...
Sorry for your loss. Any animal in the family becomes part of the family. I've been through it many times with Dogs, cats, and birds. They all had long and love filled lives. It's all you can do for them. Remember him well and tell the good stories about him and he'll never truly be gone.
