My AC decided to stop working about a month ago, and I have some questions on troubleshooting. The clutch on the compressor is not engaging and I am wondering if there is a way to test it and see if it is functional. I checked the pressures, both the low and high side, and they look fine. I checked all the fuses, and they appear ok. Is there a way to test the relays? The low speed fan comes on when coolant temp reached 220 as it should, but of course doesn't come on when the ac is turned on. I just want to be sure to check everything before I go ahead and drop the $$$ on a new compressor.

    Thanks,

    Nik

:cornut: Some one with helpful knowledge will come along soon. In the mean time: 1.check our library or 2.plug Air Conditioner into the search feature to bring up helpful threads.

Mine died suddenly as well, but it was empty of coolant. My thought is that the compressor is leaking, and we put in uv dye to test. However, I'd rather spend $30 a year for the next years of owning it, than 2k to fix the bugger. Good luck!
