I have been doing some searches and found that if the poster does not have a signature, then I don't know what year or model they are talking about. On the Tar Heel Mini site they are set up simular to our new look, but on the left side it shows the person's car information. If it is possible to add that here I would find it a big help, as it can get confusing. I know the site is broken down by generation and such, but a lot of the time I am using the "new posts" feature. Just a thought. Jim
Thats why we have the Garage function. One is a Garage, the other is added profile info. Different methods of doing the same thing but in the end it takes the member to take advantage of functions.
I am just thinking out loud here and not complaining by any means, but I have to double click on the Garage to get the car info. What if the car info showed up with the pictuere on the first click? Jim
To get the car info into the popup would entail a rewrite of the that feature in the product. It would also create more load on the server with db queries to pull and display this data. It becomes a balance. Each method, the Garage and Profile information has flaws. I thought about the profile information method. This is where I think it is flawed in the TotalMINI application. The registration process for the site becomes a PITA as they make all that info mandatory to register. You have to be totally committed in your desire to join that site as about the only thing not asked is inseam measurements. Also if you have more than 1 MINI you can't add the second. The Garage has flaws too, it is voluntary so it is not fully utilized by all. We have a very good take rate here on M/A, mostly because I push it by providing a link in the welcome email and I often write about how it is useful in the newsletter. Then we have privacy issues. Some people don't want this info out there. I'd rather give them that option than lose potential members by forcing the issue.
Cool. You did that how? Jim BTW: You have to lead me by the hand, because I don't even remember 50.
Change the line "2009, MC, MY/B" to be: HTML: 2009, MC, MY/B I should add that the ID number at the end of the url is unique to each user. If someone besides Jim copies that directly it will point to Jim's Garage. I suddenly have visions of 100's of sigs all pointing to Jim's Garage
I copied the line you provided, went to "edit my signature", pasted the line where the other one was and nothing changed when I hit garage. Now you can see why I have NO future in IT. :nonod: Jim
I can follow instructions (ie "do not walk on the grass" or "save changes"), but that code stuff is Greek to me. Now I see that it comes up when I click on the 2009, MC under the sig. I was looking someplace else. :blush2: All you folks out there in IT. Your jobs are safe from me. Jim
