New host Hotel in North Las Vegas, Aliante Palace Hotel. Entire hotel is blocked off for AMVIV attendees. This is a brand new hotel and all the rooms are nicer than the Tower rooms at the old venue. The rate is lower, $99 room + tax. The Garage is nicer as well, more power outlets for the vendors. Also the ramp is open to the sky allowing the trailers to be pulled up to the top. White Roof Radio is planning a live broadcast. Allegedly the slots are looser and tables pay better as it is a locals casino as opposed to the casinos on the strip. Possibly no banquet this year as attendance was to low last year and the Sin City Club took a big hit. There is a contest again this year to design the event shirt. Hey Blucooper, when are you planning on heading west? We have this on our agenda too, just not sure we can work out the logistics. We would sure love to get out that way again though!
No definite plans, but was sort of leaning towards going to Atlanta then up to Chattanooga and across 64 to Memphis and then 40west. I might leave as early as the 19th but I may change as time gets nearer. Last year went out 40 to Flagstaff then north to Utah and Bryce Canyon, then down to Zion National Park and on to Vegas. I like to hit the unknown areas and see things you normally wouldn t see. I can do these things since my work week consists of 6 saturdays and 1 sunday. I will be doing alot more as soon as Obama sends me some more money!
We are planning on attending this. Not sure how many yet. We may drive all or parts of Route 66. All still in the planning/research stage.
