Hello everyone, I just purchased a dark gray metallic 2007 Mini Cooper S with (45,500 miles) all the bells and whistles, it has every feature possible for a 2007 Mini Cooper S. It is by far the best handling car I have ever owned! I have done some serious research before buying it, aux water pump recall was performed 3000 miles ago and the Timing Chain/Tensioner is a none issue for me at this point in time. I went ahead and purchased a 6-year/100,000 mile warranty, a Lojack with the early warning feature and of coarse an alarm. It runs really smooth and pulls hard when pushed, that was before "Sport Mode"! I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post a few. Regards, Systemlord.
Welcome! Although the timing chain/tensioner isn't an issue at the moment I would make sure it gets covered under warranty, either the original or the extended as it is almost a $2000 project. I bought my 08 at 48,450 and started hearing the chain at 50,050 miles....dealer wouldn't do a thing for me.
Thank you for the warm welcome everyone! The warranty was purchased through Carmax and it's very flexible, if I have a defect or something fails that's not do to normal wear and tear ($150/$200) deductible, I can take it to Carmax Irvine or the Irvine BMW dealer. Let's just pray and hope that I never have an expensive repair of that magnitude! Pictures I will upload after my car is hand washed.
