First, hello everyone! I finally figured out how to start a thread here. I just got my 2005 r53 just two weeks ago and it's been amazing.

Now, on to the real purpose of the posting. Attached here are pictures of this little thing I found in my used MINI. I wondered if anyone can tell me what it might be?

Please take a look and let me know if you know what it is.

Not sure. Where'd you find it in the car? Does it have a part number on it? If so, it can be identified at a parts counter or on a MINI parts website...

Welcome to M/A the FUN Mini site.

It looks like a part from IKEA furniture and it may not even be from your car at all.

No idea, I certainly never seen that part. As Dave.0 said it might not be a MINI part at all.

Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance, the FUN and Friendly MINI Community.

That does not look like anything ever seen holding a MINI together.

What everyone else said. Just be glad it's not an atual Mini/BMW part left there by mistake by a mechanic at the dealership. Happened to me. Had to drive back to see why they left it off only to find out it was a part for a 5 series. That resulted in an embarrassing (for the dealer) conversations why another car's parts were in my car.

Looks like the part from your glove box latch, check to see if it is opening and closing fine AND if you can lock/unlock it.

Well what you have there is the very rare plastic thingy bob. It controls the amout of blinker fluid usage per blink during hazard operation.

As a matter of fact, my glove box latch doesn't function at all, it's there more for display and the lock can be pulled out with the key. Maybe that's it...

Unfortunately, unless you can get the piece back in (my glove box lost one of the plastic pieces so I can't fix mine) and no other pieces are missing...you have to get another glove box to use it properly.
